Start with Breach at the Battlegrounds tower
The preceding quest, Hearing Voices, directs you to a tower beside the Battlegrounds. Read Breach there to begin the diary trail. Once the quest changes, track Vorgoth's Ruminations rather than continuing to search for another Hearing Voices objective. The game-data sequence begins with finding the second note because the first page is the trigger. Quest connection.
Reach the upper islands before searching for the later pages
The published route places the later notes on the floating islands. Follow the regional progression through Land Of The Sky Islands and Activating The Gate To The Stars if the upper route is unavailable. Guided's walkthrough describes activating six beacons before using the platform at Cinder's Ascent. QuestAtlas has not independently confirmed this access route in play. Sky-island access reference.
Find The Full Moon Brings Clarity
The second page is reported on Gardens Of Earthly Delights, on the upper island route. Read the page and check that the journal advances to the third note. Treat the island name as the first navigation check; a marker that seems horizontally close is not proof that you have reached the correct elevation. Location reference.
Find Close To The Clouds Above
Continue toward the Ancient capital. The walkthrough identifies Shroud Heartlands as the third page's island. The quest database also places this stage near the capital, with an approximate reference of 90 metres east of a Fell Sicklescythe location. Use that as an orientation aid, not as a measured route from a fast-travel point. Quest marker data.
Dig beneath the final page
After reading the last page, the objective becomes Dig Below The Note. Stay at that page's location and remove the ground beneath it to reveal the chest. The target is below the final document, rather than a new page elsewhere. Bring a terrain-removal tool before attempting this part. Final objective.
If the quest seems stuck
- Still looking for the second note: Check whether Breach was actually read, then inspect the tracked objective.
- At the marker with nothing visible: Compare your elevation with the island route before searching the same ground again.
- Already read the final page: Look for the digging objective rather than another diary marker.
- Expecting a particular weapon: The sources establish the chest and XP, not a fixed item drop.
These are checks inferred from the quest sequence, not confirmed fixes for a game bug.
