Stardew Valley Greenhouse Sprinkler Planner.
Place Quality and Iridium Sprinklers on a 12 by 10 greenhouse plot. Compare watered crops, lost spaces and uncovered tiles.
Try a layout before moving your crops
Select a sprinkler type, then activate a tile to place it. Activate the same type again to remove it. Purple I means Iridium; gold Q means Quality. Green dots are watered crop spaces; × marks an unwatered crop space. The dark outer ring is the wooden border.
116 watered crop spaces · 0 unwatered · 4 soil tiles occupied · 6 sprinklers
I (3,3) · I (3,8) · I (8,3) · I (8,8) · I (13,3) · I (13,8)
Coordinates count crop columns 1–12 from the left and rows 1–10 from the top. Border positions use column 0 or 13, or row 0 or 11. Keyboard: Tab to a tile, then Enter or Space. All placements here represent sprinklers without upgrades.
Quality vs Iridium: the cost in crop spaces
| Preset | Machines | On soil / border | Watered crops | Unwatered |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quality | 16 | 12 / 4 | 108 | 0 |
| Iridium | 6 | 4 / 2 | 116 | 0 |
The Iridium preset frees 8 crop spaces compared with this Quality preset: 116 − 108 = 8. That is about 7.4% more watered crop capacity, not a guaranteed 7.4% profit increase. Crop choice, growth time and processing still decide revenue. If you already own the Quality machines, the smaller layout can be useful while you gather Iridium.
Quality coordinates: columns 2, 5, 8, 11 crossed with rows 2, 5, 8, 11. The last row is on the border. A Quality sprinkler waters the surrounding 3 × 3 square except its own tile; an Iridium sprinkler uses a 5 × 5 square with the same exclusion.
Method, scope and checks
For each crop tile we count nearby sprinklers, exclude tiles occupied by a machine, and report every remaining unwatered tile. Overlapping coverage is counted once. Border placements never count as crop space. This geometric model is verified against known layouts; it is not an independent in-game playtest.
Scope: standard, unmodded greenhouse and ordinary Quality/Iridium Sprinklers. No Pressure Nozzles, retaining soil, trees, paths, garden pots or collision/decorative-object simulation. Sprinklers operate in the morning; placing one does not immediately water a newly planted crop.
