Quick answer

Mine Copper Ore in Revelwood, then use the appropriate metal-processing station. Current reference data lists 10 Copper Ore + 10 Charcoal → 10 Copper Bars at the Smelter, and 20 Copper Ore + 20 Coal → 20 Copper Bars at the Blast Furnace. The fuel names are different. Copper Bar data.

Gather ore before budgeting bars

The Copper Ore reference identifies Revelwood as an early source and lists deposits across additional regions. Its map includes named landmarks such as Vukah Cave Pillar and Fort Kelvin. Use the linked deposit map to inspect a location you can already reach, rather than treating every listed deposit as an early-game route. Copper Ore map and uses.

Make a short trial trip with repaired tools and free inventory slots. Check that the gathered item is Copper Ore, then decide whether the remaining deposit and your return route justify a longer mining session. The goal is a repeatable supply, not an unverified maximum-yield route.

Check the Smelter requirement

The Smelter is a Blacksmith recipe requiring a Forge, 50 Fired Bricks and 1 Crucible in the current data. The entry lists the rescued Blacksmith and collected Crucible as an unlock route. An ore stack alone does not replace these station requirements. Smelter reference.

Copper Bar recipe comparison: Smelter uses 10 ore and 10 Charcoal for 10 bars; Blast Furnace uses 20 ore and 20 Coal for 20 bars.

Calculate the next batch

Using the listed inputs, a target of 40 Copper Bars means either:

  • Four Smelter batches: 40 Copper Ore and 40 Charcoal.
  • Two Blast Furnace batches: 40 Copper Ore and 40 Coal.

This is recipe arithmetic, not a claim about gathering speed or the time needed to unlock either station. Compare the station you own with the fuel you can supply before planning a larger target.

Why an older guide may disagree

Older early-access references can show different ratios. Check the installed recipe panel before filling a long queue. This guide intentionally avoids promising a universal timer: the linked data displays rounded menu times alongside more precise recipe descriptions.

If the station does not accept your fuel, read its ingredient label carefully. Charcoal and Coal are separate resources, and the station determines which one is required.

Use the clay and Fired Bricks checklist to budget the construction materials separately from the ore-processing inputs.
