Enshrouded 1.0 Skills Reset: Returning Player Checklist
Review skills, bindings and crafting before returning to an old save, plus the dated 1.0.1.2 hotfix for recipes that would not stay pinned.

Research note: Checked November 8, 2026 against Keen Games' release and hotfix notes. AI-assisted research and editorial checklists; no independent gameplay test. Scope: the 1.0 transition, with a dated 1.0.1.2 hotfix note below.
Quick answer
If you return to an Early Access save in Enshrouded 1.0, check your skill points, action bindings and current crafting recipes before heading out. Keen's release notes say existing saves receive a skill-tree reset on first play in 1.0.0.0, and custom bindings were reset for changed controls. That is a reason to inspect your setup before treating a missing ability as a lost character. Official 1.0 changelog.

First login: use a five-minute preflight
The checklist below is an editorial order of operations. It is designed to separate a changed setting, an unspent progression point and a changed recipe before you spend time on a long supply run.
- Record the build: note the version shown by your installed game and the world you opened. Keep the date with any troubleshooting screenshots.
- Review skills: inspect your point balance and reallocate your preferred abilities before relying on an old build.
- Check controls: confirm the actions you use for movement, gliding, interaction and combat in the actual bindings screen.
- Read one recipe: compare the station, ingredient names and quantities with the current crafting panel rather than an old shopping list.
- Take a short test trip: check the abilities you depend on near a familiar base before carrying valuable supplies into an unfamiliar area.

Why are my old skills missing?
The published reset applies when an existing save is first played in 1.0.0.0. Revisit the skill tree and spend your points again. A later symptom in a different build is not automatically explained by that one-time transition.
For a useful comparison, write down the ability you expected, the skill you currently have selected, and the action you tried. If the skill is selected but a different key or controller action is assigned, you have a different question from an unspent-points problem. Avoid rebuilding your entire loadout until you have separated those cases.
Old recipes and familiar routes need a fresh check
The release notes describe revised early crafting progression and storage upgrades. Check the recipe in your current station before treating a material mismatch as a missing item. If two guides disagree, the installed recipe panel is the practical starting point for a new shopping list.
Our material guides keep their subjects separate so you can verify just the resource you need:
- Flax and Linen recipes
- Copper Ore, Copper Bars and the fuel distinction
- Basic and Advanced Glider recipes
For northern exploration, begin with the objective and your available access route. The Cinder's Cradle crop guide and Vorgoth diary guide cover specific goals rather than every new map location.
Recipe pins disappearing: the November 4 hotfix
Keen's November 4, 2026 hotfix is labelled 1.0.1.2, build 1287369. It explicitly lists a fix for pinned recipes not staying pinned. Check your installed version against that dated note before applying an older workaround. Official hotfix #5.
The same note lists several crash and loading fixes. It does not promise that every crash or black screen has the same cause. If a problem persists, record the build, the world and the shortest sequence that reproduces it, then use F1 → Report a bug as described by Keen. Keep a copy of the original save before experimenting with replacement files; this guide does not ask you to delete progress or alter game data.
Choose one next project
After the preflight, choose a task that lets you verify a small part of the updated game. Refresh one resource supply, complete one tracked objective, or sketch a simple circuit with the Sparkworks Tool and logic guide. One clear goal makes it easier to tell whether a problem belongs to progression, controls or a particular feature.
Sources and update boundary
This is a dated transition checklist, not a claim that every platform has the same build or that 1.0.1.2 will remain the newest patch. If a later release changes the relevant behavior, follow its official notes and send us the detail to review.
